I was taught design and silk-screen printing at Winchester School of Art. I draw to relax, and I now screen-print for my small business; Beetroot Press, a planet-kind range of home and giftware.
Following on from university, my main design experience comes from working for 7 years at BHS Home.
I enjoy designing from my own drawings and sketches, working up designs into Illustrator and Photoshop. I also love working with vintage swatches, creating useable files for new palettes and manufacturing.
I have a wide breath of experience in designing for different areas including Homeware (both hard and soft goods), Kids fashion and home, gifts, packaging and paper goods. I love the different design areas and give me the freedom to work on interesting projects.
An example of of items I enjoy designing are, kids bedding, older girls prints, dining-ware, mugs and home textiles. I also welcome new projects and am always interested in learning new disciplines.
Other knowledge areas I can help you with are; creating bedding repeats for rotary printing, layered/grouped design files, working to Pantone colour, and creating mood boards and compiling trend research.
I've worked for a number of well known companies, such as The Little White Company, MADE.com, Kew Gardens, BHS and Debenhams. I also work for a studio part-time through where I've sold designs to Paperchase, M&S, among other european and American companies.
